I'm very queasy about messing with my new MIA Standard Strat, but more so about dropping it. For the top one, I used the Schaller short screw and 2 toothpicks shaved down a bit. I didn't want to slop with glue so tried it dry. This worked great and it's very tight. I was very patient and took it real slow. I did the same thing with the lower one except I used the longer screw. It went in without drilling. Again, very slow and patient. I'm confident they're not coming loose. Use glue and drill if you're OK with that. Either one of those "simple" tasks would easily have been a disaster in my hands. I do think the strap holes can be compromised quickly even changing the buttons out once. You've got to be sure it's not coming loose. Also, be sure the nut and washer on the strap are always tight. Before doing this, I had 2 near mishaps. It's worth it.

If you dig around on Amazon you can get bottle seals in reasonable quantities for less than you'd pay for the Fender branded item https://www.amazon.co.uk/Grolsch-Spare- ... entries*=0

I've used Dunlop's Dual-Design strap locks for years on all my guitars and basses. Great strap locks.

That looks like some clear thick ones that I made up (without the logo of course).
