I am new here, and a novice at this, but have appreciated the help people have given.

In listening to people like Brad Paisley, and others that get what I think of as traditional Telecaster sound, what effects or setup are they using to get what you would consider the "traditional country telecaster" sound?

I think there is some delay? What else?

thank you.

I'm not traditional by any means, but I think most will say...
Some compression to sustian the notes, even out the levels from each string, and put out a nice "click" to your pick attack. A fast, tight slapback echo with one repeat. And a healthy dose of reverb. The Tele sounds darn good on its own, so don't overdo it on the effects.
However, my current Telecaster sound is a regular compression, a short echo with about 3 repeats for a "bathroom effect", and a huge amount of reverb. I also mix in a phase shifter and an envelope follower when I want to go crazy.

some compression and a little slapback dely would give you a classic sound

or just the Tele plugged straight into an good Tube Amp

I appreciate the input and help.

I am getting setup again, after a long, long hiatus and hardly know which way is up on what to get, and I have some to relearn and a lot to learn for the first time.

a tele into a
compressor
tremolo
analog delay for some slap back
and a tube screamer if you need a little more bite
then an all tube 2 12" combo like a fender twin

One of the secrets to the Telecaster's sound centers on the bridge pickup, which has more windings than the neck pickup and hence has a much higher output, sometimes having twice the inductance of the neck pickup.

At the same time, a capacitor is fitted between the slider of the volume control and the output, allowing treble sounds to bleed through while the mid and lower ranges are dampened.

I use a combination of a little compression, slapback delay, reverb and eq to get a good country (or even other styles) sound with a Tele.
