I'd love to see that on a Telecaster. 8)

Very nice...Fiesta Red is an amazing hue, and very hard to accurately photograph...it can look red, orange, pinkish, etc., depending on the lighting, etc.

Give it a maple fretboard and I'm sold.

How about this one, Mike?
This is a Jim Campilongo '59 Custom Shop top loader Telecaster from a couple of years ago.

The guitar above appears to be in a picture that might be from The Music Zoo.
Sadly, it was parted out and sold on eBay by a well known "atmospheric seller" of guitar parts -- at least the body was, as identified by the grain.
Unbelievably, the bare body sold for $900.00!!

About 1980 (IIRC), I bought a Squier JV (?..it was Japanese) '52 RI and played that for some years. I fell in love with the '52 as my hero at the time was Keith Richards, and the Stones were riding high with Tattoo You. There was nothing like the feeling of playing 'Start Me Up' with my Squier.

It was later stolen, and after some time it was recovered, but it was beaten to the point where it wouldn't stay in tune anymore (loose neck joint etc.), so I replaced it with a few pointy '80's guitars for a while. The hair metal thing died and I changed to Strats about '92. Recently I acquired an American Vintage '52 Blackguard RI, and oddly enough, it feels like coming home.

I don't know if my memory is skewed regarding the quality of that old Squier, or if the Japanese really tried to produce a quality reissue of a Blackguard Tele. Perhaps some of the more knowledgeable members could enlighten me?

Those JV series early 80's Squiers were good guitars. I still have an 82 JV series Squier Strat but it is not in my current rotation.

I'd tinkered a couple times with them in music store but was more interested in Strat's. Then my disposable income increased and I played an Am Dlx Tele bought. Love that guitar. My guitar tasted have morphed over the years.

I added another Telecaster to the herd. Love the P-90s, like the Thinline body weight, and after a few cosmetic changes, it turned out like this:

I started a similiar topic in the Strat section for those who want
to talk about their Strats.

Great stories here and pics....

Early on in the tread I posted why I'd like to have a tele. Today I get to post about owning one. It's everything I hoped for and more. Not only can I get sounds I couldn't accomplish with a strat, but the sounds are simply amazing.
It's mid 90's Fender, much lighter than any current mim fender I've tried at the music stores and very resonant.
I've since added a 4 way swith to get the pickups in series for added volume. I have to say, that's got to be one of the easiest and most worthwhile mods one can do to a tele, imho. The pickups are alnico, not exactly sure what type, but they are slightly over wound with a reading of 7.25k and 7.5k. I'm really digging the pickups so no plans to swap them or any time soon.
I've also swapped out the tone cap for a mallory .022uf. I tried various other cap types and decided to stick with the mallory. It seemed to be the best one for the job. I won't by try to explain it, but it just was.

Anyhow, enough blabbering. Here it is.

Is that a mid 90's Fender MIM bridge?
