Good evening to all,
I have been playing my Tele for about 7 years and noticed some issues with the jack connector on my guitar. Is there anything I can do to solve that problem ? I have already tried to clean the inner contacts of the Jack connector (the one located inside the guitar) with no success. Please let me know if I can do something more significant to improve the connector contact (between the guitar and the cable). Thanks in advance for your assistance and/or advises.
Rick

I am assuming you have tried a new or different cable?
The plugs are generally pretty solid, but particularly on cheaper cables, the plugs are lower quality and the tip can come loose from the pin that runs down the center of the plug.

Beyond that, being a Tele, playing seated can stress the jack and jackplate.
Not only may it loosen the attachment (which would feel bad, but should not cause any electrical anomalies), but it may have pushed the center contact to the side, resulting in a poor fit.
Gentle movement with pliers can slightly increase tension to help with this.

I bought a Fender 2010 deluxe from a friend of mine. I am also having a problem with the Jack breaking up, I cannot use my monster cable on it just completely hums breaks up, and the cheaper cable is working as long as guitar is not moved radically. I have taken the tone and volume plate off and also loosen the Jack plate and seems to be nothing wrong. First question, do you mean to compress the inside Jack with pliers? Also this 2010 deluxe has serial numbers without letters, first digit is 10 followed by six other numbers. I talked to somebody from Fender and they couldn't identify or verify this deluxe, but I've read that when they made some 2010s that they did not put them on the registry. Can anyone verify that ? on the Jack problem .Hate bringing my guitar into a pair shop. Any information is appreciated. Thank you very much. Telstar

Not compress... slightly open the "U" so there is a little more pressure on the pin.

That's just a title based on your post count.
I'm no more than a hobbyist (who's been playing since the 70s)
