So my highway one has a mix of different colored plastic accessories. I have a few questions about what I need so hopefully you can help me understand.

My noiseless pickup covers are "aged white", my volume knob is white, the two tone controls are "aged white", there is no tremolo cover, and the pickup assembly is white. I am having my guitar painted black with red metallic flakes. It's going to be awesome.

So I am going black on the accessories. I don't want to get some cheap kit unless it really makes no difference. I had to special order the noiseless pickup covers from Custom World in the UK. Apparently getting these things in any color is a challenge. What does scare me is this thing is described as "bridge" pickup covers. I'm hoping I'll be ok. I couldn't find white anywhere otherwise I may have stayed with white on everything.

So for my 2004 highway one does anyone have a recommendation as to what I should get and from where? If it's best to buy from the Fender website and go with genuine parts I'm ok with that. If it doesn't make any difference and I'm going to save a ton of money by going with the Guitar Center or whatever accessory kit let me know. What might be cool is something to go with the black w/red metallic flakes paint job. We wont know what it'll look like of course until it's done. You guys will be the first to know of course.

Also, do I go with "vintage" for certain parts if I order off this site? What about the neck back plate thing? I don't care for the plain one. One with the fender logo would be better. Not that I'm trying to pass this off as an American standard or anything. I just don't care for the plain one. I need a tremolo arm also but I think I see that on this site for the highway one.

i own a fender American standard strat in hand rubbed honeyburst, with maple neck. bought it used at guitar center. love this axe, but.....

I decided to upgrade, and bought a loaded tortoise pickguard, with vintage noiseless pickups and the extra button to have more pickup options. regular fender pickup covers don't fit, and the white covers just stood out.
I went and bought a can of spray paint, and painted the pickup covers in a color just a little off from the pickguard. I gad some chrome knobs around, so I added them to the mix. turned out really well. for the price of a can of spraypaint, you can find a color you like, and make your guitar a little different.

just 1 option.

Thank you. I might just do that considering I'm now thinking about staining the guitar and not painting. Thanks for the idea!!

If you go with a tinted clear finish, you could go with black pickguard, knobs, covers etc. If you ever have to replace something, black is pretty much black, unlike the white parts with differing coloring.
