Maybe not much to go on but I was looking at this auction and bid a little was not sure what this was but it did go for $900 USD Now I am wondering what did I miss here. Now I am curious

I've never seen an original in sunburst with a silver-anodized pickguard though. The serial number *seems* to suggest a 1958 instrument.

I own a 62. Nice little guitar. You can tell it was made during a time when things were made with care, as were the amplifiers of the time.

I wouldn't feel bad about missing out on this one, given the refin and stripped headstock decal. The 50's models were offered in Desert Sand with a gold anodized pickguard. This pickguard was likely the recipient of some form of finish-stripping technique.
