I make these adjustments myself and tweak them as necessary once or twice a year.

I do it myself too, when the guitar tells me it needs it.

I do all setups myself.
Living in an area with big temperature/humidity changes, I check & adjust relief quite regularly. On most of my guitars, it needs adjusting 2-4 times a year.
Oh, the last time; two weeks ago (on a Strat that needed a shim, so it was in pieces for a while), and probably doing the full round within the next month, since winter and central heating are creaping on.

I do my own setups as well. I check the relief every time I change strings or every couple of months, and make adjustments as needed.

I do my own, whenever needed.used to be scared to touch them, but once you start to do them(and have correct tools, I had a thread about Cruz tools vintage truss rod tools)it's something I am very comfortable doing and keeps my guitars playing at their best.

Do it myself. Nothing, nothing about a guitar is rocket science. They've been around for thousands of years. Only crude electrics have entered the picture.

If it needs it...but I check relief fairly often...Change of Season for sure...rarely need even a tweak...

...on Fender Necks that is...and I prefer a close action.

...Thee weather hath turned dry in Newe Geoursey...temps are drouping as season doth command...hehehe

...get the Humidifier out...Heating season is almost here...Time To Tinker!

BTW...I like to get a "Pro" Set-Up...every year or two...it's Better than my own.

Excellent to see this response. I was led to posting this question
after I was asked to check the relief on a friend's son's guitar. I
asked when was the last time it was adjusted and the response
was something like "oh, you're supposed to adjust these?"

D'oh!

Here in Vegas I swear by the humidifier, really helps the acoustics. We're lucky here the weather is very stable, my adjustments seem to hold with only occasional tweaks.

If you use a De-humidifier near where your guitars are
it can be a cause for tweaking too.
