How about some photos - the serial number only gives you the approximate year, plus the MIM serial numbers usually change over about the middle of the year.

So the "MZ5" part roughly puts it anywhere from mid-2005 through mid-2006. What I don't recall is if the Deluxe Player had any upgrades or model changes in that time frame.

Sometime in mid 2006 FMIC switched from Gotoh tuners to less-expensive Ping's. While similar in appearance to vintage Kluson's, they are dimensionally different. The Gotoh's bushings shared measurements with the Kluson's but the Ping's bushings are slightly larger in diameter, requiring a bigger hole in the headstock.

AFAIK, the Deluxe Player and its predecessor, the Super Strat use the same gold tuners from the nineties to date which are Fender part 0053276000 aka 'Reliance' gold tuners (made by Ping).
