Maybe it is how much I love my new offset body PRS S2 Vela but I feel like I have to own a copy of the Sergio Vallin strat. Just looks the business.

Who the hell is he?

It's an interesting looking bit of kit, I'll give you that.
There's no need for the metal plate around the bridge, so why put it on?
The pickup positioning is interesting, and moving the bridge pickup to where it is should give it a slightly fuller sound.
I'm not convinced with rotary pickup switching. For me a 5 way blade switch would be preferable. I'd like at least a master tone control and a master volume control. The control plate I is something I could learn to live with.

It looks OK.
I'd prefer a more traditional Strat layout - call me old fashioned, but Leo got the template right back in '53/'54.
I wouldn't think of calling this guitar a Stratocaster. It's another Fender guitar, but it's not a Strat.

Sergio Vallin is Mexican, and his band is called Maná.
I've just been playing some of their music, and in my opinion it's worth giving an ear to.

There is no need for the plate but I think it looks good. I'd prefer a 5 way blade, too, but aesthetically I can see why they did it. A tone control would be nice but honestly I don't use them as much on a strat.

What I've heard sounds good but I've yet to hear a demo by anyone I normally watch for demos. So hard to judge.

Listened to some Mana stuff on youtube. Not entirely my thing but very well done.

:D I like the 22nd fret as well but can take it or leave it but, to be fair:-

I like the body shape, sunburst, 2 post trem and 22nd fret.

I quite like block saddles as well so:-

I like the body shape, sunburst, 2 post trem, 22nd fret and block saddles .....and nothing else.

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

I had another look at the link and have concluded the red one looks spectacularly horrible.

I've come to the conclusion that nothing can look that horrible and it must look better in person. Wouldn't get it, tho.

I quite like the one I posted and the white one.

I'm flighty so I've just about convinced myself I should spend the money on a ted weber princeton reverb amp kit. So the question is do I want a nice new guitar to play on my existing amps or do I want a new amp to play my existing guitars? The other question is do I want to solder my thumb to ground again?

I just looked at this guitar on the net. Interesting look. I wouldn't mind test driving one, but based on looks alone…not a blip on my radar. I would want to feel how it plays before deciding I have to have one.
