Hey guys...got my new American Standard Friday. First thing I did was change the strings to Ernie Ball reg slinky 10-42. After getiing it tuned in, I noticed the tremlo was sitting at least a half inch from the body. The intonation is off a hair and the action got worse. Are a0's too strong for this operation or do I need a severe adjustment on the tremlo springs? I can take a classic car apart and put it back together blindfolded, but never have attempted to work on a guitar. DOn't have any Fender authorized repair places within 60 miles. Suggestions please. Thanks

I had same problem.
Just remove the back spring cover, loosen the strings and tighten the string tension. This brings the bridge very close tot eh body; better tone.
