Can anyone tell me what picks these are in my new Fender Strat Ultra. I know that they are not original. The magnets are staggered and not beveled. The two middle poles are high and the outer pairs are almost flush with the white pickup cover. They each have a silver "Custom Shop" label on them.

Also found that the MicroTilt setscrew had been reversed and a silver metal shim had been installed at the read of the neck pocket. The saddles were way too high so I removed the shim and reversed the setscrew so that it will function. Now I can fine tune the geometry as was originally intended.

I thought that I had started a thread on this but now I can't find it. Sorry.

Here are some pics:

Any info on the builder?

Possibly Texas Specials.
If the bridge is around 6.5 to 7k (or even higher) and the others around 6k with the middle resistance a tad more than the neck then most likely.
The wire on the texas are quite dark too not bright gold like the fat 50s :D

Blue and red Dot do identify those as reverse wound / reverse pole Texas Specials. Nice pups, what i installed in my Telepartster I Build.

Blue is Neck and Red Is Bridge so they are installed correctly.

+1...some great pickups although a bit more in your face tone wise. Great for cranking and laying down some blues rock.

I have not heard them on an Alder body Strat or Ash body. But from a month of playing my Telepartster I can say that the Texas Specials are really nice even when played at lower clean volumes. They remind me a lot of that 60's sound.
But in my case the Tele body is Walnut with a center of Maple and it is a hard tail brass bridge with thru body stringing...

I will definitely buy these TS pups again, possibly for the Ash Strat build..

I really like them.. They are so chimey that I roll the tone way back and just add a dash... they really sing!!
Then again, I've never heard a fender pickup I didn't like.
