So I've been playing electric guitar for something like 35 years now. I've owned many strats, all of which, of course, had some kind of tremolo bar.

In all that time, I never really incorporated the trem into my playing. Sure, once in a blue moon someone will ask to hear a cover of "Wicked Game" at a party, or a particular song might call for some Van Halen-esque dive bombs, but it's a very occasional thing.

After watching Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scott's, I've started fiddling around with the trem once again.
I've got a Deluxe strat with a pop-in tremolo arm which, for the most part, is very convenient with one exception: I can't find a way to fix it in place.

Whereas the traditional screw-in type of trem can be wound in to a convenient fixed position, the pop-in type is always hanging there and needs to be held in place to make consistent use of it. Just wondering if anyone has found a clever way of setting a pop-in trem to a fixed position.

Two allen key type screws reside in the back of the trem block for this purpose.
They tighten around a plastic grommet.
Overtightening will make the arm difficult to insert and remove or worse still may break/snap the grommet so take care.
They are hard to tweak with the block in situ though so best done woth the bridge out :D

You're also less likely to damage the knife edges on the tremolo base plate.

Thanks for the quick and accurate response to this. Found the holes on the bridge assembly and tweaked 'em for a nice tight grip on the trem bar. Worked like a charm.
