Just ordered a Classic 60's Stratocaster in Lacquer finish. Should be ready for pickup tomorrow.

Got love Sweetwater's fast shipping service.

Anyone have one these?

Thoughts?

In a nut shell, its a cross between the Classic 60's Stratocaster and a Road Worn.

I tried one the other day... Its neck size was amazing and the action was great considering its a 7.25" radius.

I came close to buying one . They appear to be great guitars. I love the nitro finishes. I think they come in Daphne blue , sunburst and surf green.

I like how they take actual pictures of the guitar you're buying. These are the photos from their website, but they are the actual photos of the guitar I bought...

The Fender Stratocaster Lacquer series only comes in two colors...

50's Strat is Candy Apple Red
60's Strat is 3TSB

I've personally seen them both and they are beautiful. The neck tinting is really, really dark compared to most.

Sweetwater using UPS?!?!?

My orders from Sweetwater come via Fed Ex. If they used UPS, I would rather drive up there and pick it up myself. :x

Hopefully the staff at that UPS center don't suffer from cranial/rectal inversion and the guitar arrives safe and sound.

Keep fingeroonies crossed......

Sweet looking guitar. It must be such a joy to have a guitar which is going to look better and better the more you play it and it gets knocked around.

Sweet!
According to Sweetwater, it has "vintage style pickups"
I assume that means alnico?

While I'm looking for an answer to my own question, I happen to run into this statement about the laquer finish:

For the record, Fender tells us these guitars have polyester undercoats, followed by five coats of Seagrave L-4540 high-solids nitrocellulose lacquer for the colour and top coats. Sanded and buffed to that glossy shine over the beautifully contoured, two-piece alder body, these look superb.

Just thought that was interesting about the poly undercoat.
