Hey guys thanks for all of the feedback! Another thing I noticed was that the neck doesn't appear to be finished all the way. Cross referencing with the small number of pictures I've found from Ken's Fender ads I have noticed that all of his guitars have string trees whereas this headstock hasn't even been drilled for a string tree. It appears to have the masterbuilder's name on the headstock and butt of the neck. Very strange. The guitar is very solid and well put together and sounds great. Just another oddity to walk through the pawn shop I guess!

If it plays well and sounds good, score it as a "keeper" and enjoy it.

Well who knows what it is without documentation.
The only 69 pickup I currently have has no bevelling to see but since it is in a strat Im not sure about the color of the wire used. The base is grey of course but hard to tell in those pics.
Just remembered my 69 time machine of course has 69 pickups as welll...

Anyway the neck plate has a number ... maybe run that past fender consumerrelations@fender.com and see if they come up with anything.
Is the neck u or c? I'd like a c neck like that...though I'd have to change my name :D

Ya I will definitely run the plate number by fender and see if anything pops up. As far as the neck goes It's pretty chunky. More of a U shape I believe. Thanks again for all of the info!

If you go here:

http://www.fender.com/parts/pickups-pre ... ml#start=1

You can clearly see that there is no bevel on the pole pieces.

I will retract my previous statement though, I forgot CS69's have gray bobbins.
