Today I fitted a TBX tone control on my MIM.

Regrettably, the original tone controls were wired to share one cap and one off the legs was so short that I couldn't extract it, and it got broken. I am away from home so only had the cap and resistor with the the TBX kit.

So as not to completely waste my time I have stitched the patient back up but linked the third terminal of the neck tone pot to the top third terminal of the TBX - so again sharing one cap.

It all seems to work OK (phew) but I have ordered a second cap to wire in the prescribed manner.

My question (at last I hear you cry):-

Considering the two tone controls originally shared one cap, will I notice a difference fitting two over and above the solution I am currently running?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Thanks chaps.

I will most likely fit a second cap when I swap the PUPs (well I've bought one now) but won't bother stripping it down again just to do that.

I'm really pleased with the TBX - it was one of the features I particularly like on my old MIA. And it is a joy to have swapped out the nasty bendy MIM scratch plate. I now look at the guitar on the stand and it doesn't anoy me.
