Here's a short video I recorded to demonstrate the new Digitech Trio band creator. It's a pretty handy pedal that allows a player to create really good drum and bass parts just by playing a basic rhythm. Once in operation, the player can play along with the drums and bass.

My general thoughts:
1. It's pretty handing for practicing on your own, but takes some time to figure out.
2. The bass parts can be a bit more complicated than a player might desire. I would not say that a player is going to be able to play, "Sunshine of Your Love" and get the same bass line.
3. When using the pedal, a player should not use effects such as destortion or modulation. They will effect the way the pedal sounds.
4. There are several different music styles and rhythms to choose from.
5. The pedal reacts to the players rhythm. For instance, if there is a build up in the music, the Trio will add it in, the end of a phrase.
6. A player can't save any of the parts created by the Trio. Once it's turned off, they clear out of the memory.
Trio & Looping Station:
The fact that the player can't use effects while using the Trio is a pain in the rear, but I found a quick fix that works pretty well. Here are the steps.

1. Place the Trio before a looping station (I use an Boss RC3)
2. Create the drum and bass track.
3. Record the Trio Tracks.
4. Record a second track for rhythm guitar.
5. Play back and add lead parts.

This works pretty well, but it takes some practice to get it right.

Enjoy. Feel free to share your creative insites or thoughts.

Thanks! I forgot about GW magazine things. It's pretty easy. Go to their website, lookup the topic and answer the questions.
