The serial number on my American Deluxe Strat starts US11.
They dropped the model designation a while ago in late 2009, when they changed the beginning part to US10.
You'd need to contact customer support with the full serial for them to confirm the model according to their records.

The model number is for a sunset metallic listed in the catalog P21 for $2300, so it was obviously refinished.
Other than that it looks fine to me, including the finish.

Tone, tradition and innovation. Fender’s American Deluxe Stratocaster® has all
the modern features today’s guitarists require. The compound radius fingerboard
allows effortless string bending anywhere along the neck, and N3 Noiseless™
pickups provide improved Stratocaster tones for sparkling bell-like chime with no
hum. Reconfigured S-1™ switching offers other distinctive tonal options; other
features include staggered locking tuners, two-point synchronized American
Deluxe tremolo bridge with pop-in arm, and beveled neck heel.
Part # Description MSRP
0119000770 American Deluxe Stratocaster®, Rosewood Fingerboard, Sunset
Metallic
$2,299.99

So, appart from having the wrong finish to the body, and a maple neck, not rosewood as listed, this isn't suspicious?

I would certainly get there Serial No checked and see what comes up. I would consider it highly unlikely that a metallic finished body was refinished with a clear coat.

Well it is pretty disgusting and nothing like amber. It's a pinky silver metallic with a darker pink metallic around the outside. It is IMHO the least desirable finish currently available.

The only picture I see is from the 2011 catalog P41, it shows that pic w/ a maple fretboard also.

Sunset is close to amber no ?

I think so- NOT, it disappeared in the 2014 catalog; they should have gotten rid of the sunset metallic. It may be an Amber paint job followed by the sunset metallic.
But I'm partial to wood grain exposure, even when lightly covered.

Hold it amber was a valid colour for the fender deluxe 2013.
check the catalog... maybe the seller just grabbed that info number assuming it was correct it should be amber 720 sunset metallic 770. Even fenders own manual lists it 27 then 20!
BTW 0770 rosewood 2770 maple :D

Yeah you're probably right. It is an Amber, the add listing is probably in error.
The guitar came either w/ rose or maple and the corresponding pick guard was either tort or mint.
Amber came out in the end of 2010 and was discontinued at the end of 2013.

+1 on this. Also, the Sunset Metallic is an Alder body not Ash.
