Currently on the Fender website, the CLASSIC PLAYER '50S STRATOCASTER® is listed with standard wiring for the 5-way switch and "Three American Vintage single-coil Stratocaster pickups with reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup"

A friend of mine has the FSR Classic Player ‘50s Stratocaster® and his does have a special wiring configuration which gives the bridge and neck pickup combo.
Position 1. Bridge Pickup
Position 2. Bridge and Middle Pickup
Position 3. Middle Pickup
Position 4. Neck and Bridge Pickup
Position 5. Neck Pickup

HTH

Cheers!

I hope that isn't factory stock. The neck/middle position is one of my favorite funk/quack tones to use...

No worries, DetroitBlues. Unless your incoming CP '50s is a FSR (Fender Special Run) it will have the standard wiring for the 5-way switch.

Make sure to post some pics when it arrives. :)

Cheers!

I believe the CP 50's Strat does have a RWRP middle pickup for hum cancelling, even though the "standard" set of 57/62 pups don't have a RWRP middle pickup.

Oops, you're right. Just did a clean amp test and the 60th CP 50s middle pickup is RW/RP.

The 57/62 set is noisier than my other Fender pickups when I overdrive them but it's that good vintage kind of noise. Gotta have that occasionally.

My 60th Anniversary Classic Player 50s had the 4th position wired to the neck and bridge pickups. The middle position Tele tone was fun for a while but I missed the traditional neck/middle Strat tones enough to have the wiring changed. It's all Strat now.
