Sorry if this isn't the place to ask this question. I have a 1996 MIJ Strat '68 reissue in sunburst. I'm looking to see what people thought this guitar might be worth.

Thanks

If you're selling, you'll be lucky to get 400€/$, based on sold listings on ebay.
Those aren't collector's items at the moment - which of course may change in the (distant?) future because of the recent developments in MIJ Fenders.

No offense to J, but that seems a little bit low (400 eu is 450$) so after checking ebay, the 500-700 range seems closer.
I paid 700 for mine about a year ago in natural ash.
Yours looks in good condition too.

Ps. Jmattis, what are the recent developments with Fender Japan?

+1

I see around $600 or $625 here. Perhaps a skosh more if a HSC is included.

People really tend to like these MIJ reissues, I know I do.

Thanks everyone. Is what has been mentioned a "private party" price?

It's a nice guitar but I have one a lot like it already and I want to sell it for an acoustic

Oh heck, my price reference page (ebayUK) was in £s. Mea culpa, sorry, my bad, facepalm, apologies etc.
So, the 400£ estimate would be more in the 600+ $ area. (The "$ equals €" is a private joke of mine, since € has been sinking faster that Titanic.)
BTW, a 68 reissue needs a special buyer; most MIJ seekers look for 57/62 models. Big headstock, in-your-face pickups etc. are more hendrixy or malmsteenian than vintagereissuish

I have no confirmed knowledge on this, and there is no official Fender announcements, so I won't get deeper.
But check the internet rumors - or just try reaching the http://www.fenderjapan.co.jp site.
(Seems to me, the Ritchie Kotzen Tele is the sole survivor. Paisleys, Blue Flowers, where are you..?)

No sweat......I *thought* it might've been a currency-equivalency issue between the guinea and the dollar.

These guitars had some of the best neck ever but these were 67 reissues not 68

Actually, Fender Japan has made both ST-67 and ST-68 models.
On this guitar, I just trusted the OP.
