It's a Russian Stratocaster built in 2006. Limited run of 10 pieces....

Yuriy took the American Deluxes as an inspiration after Fender found the series was very popular in Russia.

This model was offered in Aged Cherry Burst, Burgundy Burst, Sienna Translucent and Green Translucent.

Few of these Russian Stratocasters came with metal knobs, matching-painted maple pickguards and headstocks. Some featured a 4-ply aged pearloid pickguard and aged white plastic parts.

These guitars look like they'd be far more appropriately displayed at the MoMA in NYC or the Tate Gallery in London rather than belting out the blues on some beer-soaked stage in flyover country.

I gotta say pretty, but not my cup of tea. Flamed maple tops belong on Les Paul's and PRS. I have never seen a FMT on a Strat that I thought made it look any better.

Now the Flamed Maple Neck I like!

I agree with the above. If I had a spare $8K in my a guitar buying budget that would not be top of my list.

I could certainly spend $8K (if I had it), without too much problem though.

YUP...I could spend the $9k more wisely too...but...

...this one really got my attention because of the matching pickguard...

...it's also AAA Flame Maple...as is that beautiful Neck...& that Inlay is something too...

...I've got big GAS for a matching Pickguard now! :D

Quite right, $9K.

I think it is the pick guard that puts me off the most. I quite like the perliod version but it all remainings a bit OTT for me.

"Say something once...why say it again?...Psycho Killer... Qu'est-ce que c'est..." Talking Heads 1977

(Been waiting for a chance to use that nonsense)

We might disagree on the pickguard John...and I might agree with you if I ever do one :P

...but Over The Top...Oh Yeah...we can agree on that :D

Definitely! Would have to be the perliod pickguard. Or maybe no pickguard at all. Is a shame to cover up that nice wood.
