How may different colors of red has Fender used on production Stratocasters over the years? It has suddenly become my favorite Strat color!!

Perhaps because I recently purchased a metallic candy apple red and a crimson transparent... both in dead mint condition with the plastics still on the plate and pickguard!!

So far I've found these reds too... I'm sure there must be more.

Dakota red
Lipstick Red
Crimson Burst (plus)
Fiesta Red
Torino Red
Frost Red (plus)
Razz Berry
Crimson Frost
Midnight Wine
Chrome Red

Cimarron Red, a color used briefly in 1954 -- most notably by C&W artist and Fender consultant Bill Carson. It's a close relative to Dakota Red.

+1

I suppose Cherry Cola would also qualify as a red.

The "red" factor in some of these is a bit questionable, but here's a list of colors I've found filed under that category:

Aged Cherry Sunburst, Aged Natural, Antique Burst, Apple Red Flake, Autumn Burst, Bing Cherry Transparent, Black Cherry Transparent, Black w/Red Paisley, Bright Amber Metallic, Burgundy Mist, Candy Apple Red, Candy Cola, Champagne Sparkle, Cherry Cola, Cherry Sunburst, Chrome Red, Cimarron Red, Crimson Burst (sometimes, possibly by mistake, called Crimson Frost), Crimson Red Transparent, Dakota Red, Fiesta Red, Firestorm Red, Frost Red, Hot Rod Red, Lipstick Red, Midnight Wine, Midnight Wine Burst, Mystic Red, Pink Paisley, Purple Metallic, Razz Berry, Red Paisley Flames, Redstone, Shell Pink, Sienna Sunburst, Sunset Orange Transparent, Tobacco Sunburst, Torino Red, Violin Burst

And how many of them are the same colour with a different name?

Great info - I have a Firestorm and it is more black in certain light but does emit red at other angles. I've seen Champagne Sparkle and I do not see any red. Of course all the 3T SBs have red but...

Thanks again!

Hmm, a few more (Fender Japan colors): Gun Metal Red Burst, Old Candy Apple Red (blah...), Pastry Red, See-Through Red Burst, Transparent Pink and my favorite of them all, "Red" (yeah, really - it's on the list...).

And Morocco Red seems to be missing from my previous list - rare as unicorns, but apparently it has been used in US Fenders.

First, a WARNING: Do NOT click the link below if you don't want pop-ups!
The site used to be tolerable, now it's a pop up hell.
I've had no virus alerts, and the site has many rare color pics, so here goes - but at your own risk:
