I know that many like them and have had good
transactions from them. I have not.
(btw, they monitor this board too!)

I've always received top-drawer service from Matthew and Christine and will continue my patronage with The Stratosphere regardless of their pissing contest with eBay.

These days, it is difficult to make a decent profit when selling on eBay, especially when accepting PayPal.

Well personally I hope ebay crashes and burns in their own greed, and they will eventually.
Ebay claims they will be selling paypal mid year, but that would only be a ruse, to look like they are distancing themselves from further paypal fee rises.

I like to do outside biz on Reverb now... a nicer bunch of dudes, well presented site, and dedicated to musicians and our obsessions, woopeee!
Oh crap, I just bought 3 things on ebay today that weren't gear, where's my head at??

I've had good luck with the Stratosphere too, good parts at good prices. Although I think this move will harm them, hopefully I'm wrong. I've also had good luck with the more music minded Reverb site.

My original post meant that I have never dealt with them,
and NOT that I had any bad transactions with them. (Just
to be more clear).

Stratosphere aka 'Reliable Fender', I believe, and its offerings...particularly in the sale of neck plates, necks, and COA's, amid concerns for 'misrepresentations' engendered a memorable and hotly contested debate in these pages several years ago.

I bought cases from them years ago, but nothing lately. I was wondering why I was receiving weekly e-mails from them for the last few months. I guess it's part of the new business model.
