I had always been lead to believe that the Stratocaster was first available in 1954 (hence the '79, '94, '04, and '14 anniversary years), but this beast appears on multiple online music store websites...The above websites were found via google search for SKU# J19744000002001 (which does not hit on a search of the Fender site).

What is a 1951 Stratocaster?

Thanks,
Scott

Easy enough answer......as phony as a seven-dollar bill.

Walk away. Now.

That is a typo, there was no 1951 stratocaster, this is a CS 1954, 60th anniversary relic, if you zoom the pic with it in the case, the COA say's 54' Stratocaster Relic.

Holy frig did they beat the heck out of that relic strat! I just purchased a 60th Anniversary Custom Shop Heavy Relic '54 Strat and it looks like an NOS compared to the mislabeled "51". I do love mine as is and wouldn't want quite that much of the rubbing on the sidewalk treatment. -Marty

Yup, not feeling that myself. I love a good relic but that just looks like it was used to subdue tigers.

+1!

I'm just not "feelin' the love" for such deliberate abuse and wreckage.
