Hello DavidGilmoreFan33,

Well if your flexible with $500
how about $600, that'll get you
a highway one{USA} or a
Deluxe Player{mexico}.

Otherwise those Mex standards
are good, and you can hotrod
them later if that grabs you.

Best of luck on you choice.

Cheers.

PS Welcome to this forum.

Couple of questions: What does Hotrod mean? Like, change pickups, etc.?
Also: do any of your suggestions use EMGs? Bc I hate those.

yes thats what it means. i put seymoure ducan JB JRS and a DUCKBUCKER
in my MIM. and no EMGs for me

I would look for a used one. I purchased an American Deluxe (mod to HSS) in near mint condition for under $500. Take your time and find a deal.

Mmm, that's pretty. Nice piece of ash under that finish. VS100 bridge, too. I couldn't imagine modding an Am Deluxe - but if you were going to, that's a handsome way to go.

Why don't you take some more pix, Just Strum, and post them in the Pics of Your Strat thread?

Cheers

If I had purchased it new or purchased it with three singles, I probably wouldn't have done a mod on it. However, the guy I purchased it from I got to know at another forum before I purchased it and I couldn't pass it up. I changed the knobs, switch tab, and the jack plate after I received it and that is it. If I do anymore to it, I would like to install a push/pull on one of the tones so I can switch the HB to a single when desired.

I'll have to post some more pictures when I have the proper lighting, a flash washes out the grain, so I will wait for some good natural lighting.
