hello i got a strat with this bi flex truss rod and tried to tighten in the opposite direction
and its popped the walnut plug out so i tightened it in the regular direction to remove relief and it still seemed to function i.e i have met resistance in tighting , however the plug is still sticking out

do you think its ok to try and tap it back into position sounds painful lol

is it a simple task of attempting to push it back in or is the rod broken basically ?

thank you

Now, I'm a little hesitant giving advice on this one...

First: if it's a new guitar, take it back to the store - it's possible the plug was not glued in properly (or something else like that), and that this would be covered by warranty.
Second, even if it's an old guitar, take it to a pro. He/she can check the damage. With luck, it's just a case of reglueing the plug, worst case scenario you need a new neck - and anything else that falls between those two possibilities.

While I'm typically a very strong advocate of the DIY route, in this case I do have to agree with jmattis in taking the guitar to a pro for this one.

If the guitar is new or if you are the original owner, then this should very well be covered under warranty. Even if the guitar was acquired used, I'd still suggest taking it to a pro...very simply that plug should NOT have popped out like that over a simple truss adjustment (you only turned the rod 1/4 of a turn or less, right?), which could very well suggest a problem with the truss rod.

Just my $.02...

Hey why not use the Mojo Man, solid stainless... plugs right in and takes the over-watch, all your worries are no more. Woohoo!!
