I've got a pair of Sony MDR-V150's that are good to me. They tend to clip easily and I have to keep the volume low. But they were inexpensive and they are okay for what I need.

I use a pair of Sennheiser PX 100's. They sound great, the cord is pretty long, and I got mine for about $30.

I would start out with a pair of inexpensive ones and get better ones if you really feel you need it.

DT100s. You can wear 'em all day without problems, which is why you'll see them in more studios and such than any other headphone. "The industry standard"; yadda-yadda. Easy to get spares, too - I find the plastic round the jack doesn't last forever.

DT100s; SM57s - the oldies are the goldies.

Headphones are a good idea to use when the house is quiet. I got a set for Fathers Day and it works out well. Even the neighbors like the idea...lol

Hi man. I'm doin' just fine, or I would be if you'd just TURN THAT GUITAR DOWN!

[Sound of fist banging on wall.]

I use Bose headphones. I have tried less expensive models and found them to not have the quality in sound. I am sure there are other headphones that will share the same quality as Bose.

More important, IMHO, is what you feed these headphones with.
I would like to recommend the Pandora's Box from Korg - px4d. It's a superb little machine which immediatly provided the tonal qualities I've been dreaming of since I started playing (way back in the 70's.)
It has never been so satisfying to exercise the guitar (or record, for that matter).
