I am pretty sure its a issue thats been gone over and over, OK, Easy, New Deluxe Roadhouse Tuners are PN#0990820100. The Locking ones are PN#099-0818-100. Should be an easy swap? I hope so. Thanks and Very sorry to go over this. Hard to really do a good search on the forums. Thanks a Million in Advance! MK

These look to be the same tuner that I bought from Musician's Friend http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessor ... ad&index=1 . They were a direct replacement for the stock tuners on the Deluxe Roadhouse.

Tuners come in vintage spec 8mm or modern 10mm...often the fit is too tight and the Headstock post hole must be enlarged slightly

If you value the neck do not attempt to drill them or force a larger hole...like this guy...

Yup...that's me...working on a '93 Strat Plus Neck...forcing the wood with a drill bit...I didn't crack the Headstock that time

Here's a better idea...suggested to me by Esteemed Forum Member Ceri...wrap a sandpaper strip around the tapered handle of a small paint brush :)

You could buy an actual reamer...there are inexpensive ones available at Harbor Freight and similar tool stores...

As for Tuners/Machine Heads...these are my vintage favorites...staggered & locking & expensive

...but they sure look good & come with adapter bushings to fit 10mm as well...

Good luck - Dan :D

The locking tuners in the first post are a direct replacement for guitars not fitted with vintage style tuners (I'm talking current standard).
No woodworking is required.
I fitted a set on my Mex Strat a few years ago, and all you need is a spanner. The job shouldn't take more than about 15 minutes.

The locking tuners do have staggered post height, so just make sure you've fitted them in the right order.
The shorter post machines should be furthest away from the nut.

Wanted to update, in case you needed to know, the fender locking tuners came, took about 20 mins, l could have done it quicker, but took the time to save the strings, just changed them last week. The tuners go right in. Perfect!

I have to say, i read about how they make the head end heavier, no problem for me. Maybe its in my head, but i noticed more sustain, from more mass on headstock, its not major, but noticable. I had to recheck pedal settings, thinking i may have moved knobs, nope,,,, that small bit of mass made a difference to my ears. So its great.
