The Vintage Noiseless pickups might well be in a similar place to the Elite pickups tonally, and they work well with active preamps (they're used in the Clapton model).

They are on my short list of pickups...but I need a humbucker for the bridge even though I only run the single coil tap in this position.

Anybody got a recommendation? I haven't found a Fender "Vintage Noiseless" version humbucker yet....

I would prefer to install matched pickups from the same manufacturer if possible

Vintage Noiseless pickups are stacked humbuckers housed into a single coil format.

From my understanding you want an HSS configuration.

There's no full-sized Vintage Noiseless humbucker AFAIK, but a pair of dual-coil ceramic Hot Noiseless pickups in the neck and middle positions would perfectly match a hot bridge humbucker like the Fender DH-1 "Atomic".

Because the Claptone has a +25dB boost as opposed to +12dB.

To restore the original 12dB gain boost you must add two resistors in the MDX pot but this mod might require some alterations to the circuit board.

Maybe he should try one of those discontinued Fender Powerhouse Strats. That circuit contains the downgraded circuit board.

I have enough guitars already... :D

I want medium output pickups approximately 7k DC ( This what I measured on the Elite pickups I had ). Very clean pickups, no extra distortion from the pickup if that helps

There are several capacitors and resistor values that differ between the Elite and EC boards other than the boost. I don't know how to explain it, but I prefer the Elite board. Maybe because I have been using it for several decades
