Do you know how to get hold of Paul Gagon?

I don't have the Elite anymore and I don't want to route a cavity in another guitar to install the board.

I want to mount the preamp in a pedal and install a similiar pickup to the Elite. I am not trying to duplicate it as much as I want the Fender "clean" pickups without the noise and the dummy pickup.

The only complaint about the preamp in a pedal was that when the guitar volume is backed off instead of the tone cleaning up the sound was "muddy"

Still working on how to solve that problem.

Not chromeface, but Paul works for G&L now - he's designed all their alnico pickups for their ASAT models that have come out over the past few years.

You might try to track him down through them.

This allows me to use the preamp in "all" my guitars instead of buying or building 6 Elite preamps to install in 6 guitars ( I really don't want to hog out a big hole in them for the board to fit )

I contacted G&L guitars and they are less than friendly about contacting Mr. Gagon.

If anybody knows how to contact him I would appreciate it

A less kindlier, less friendlier, music industry. But they'd sure like you to buy one of their guitars. :)

Work it into your signal chain. Its been around for awhile. Looks like a plan. Keep us updated.

The Vintage Noiseless pickups might well be in a similar place to the Elite pickups tonally, and they work well with active preamps (they're used in the Clapton model).

They cannot fit in the Elite pickguard unless you order a custom replacement from WD Music.

Ty Tabor uses the pickups and preamp from his Elite rackmounted. Is that job you really want to do?

Instead of messing around the Elite preamp buy a Cara Claptone stomp box.

The Cara Claptone is on my list, but they do not sound the same as the original Elite boards in my opinion.... :D

Sort of I have been using a Lab Series L5 for 30+ years and have a guy building me a revised version of the preamp section. Clean pickups > Elite preamp > L5 = Heaven to me. I am trying to update this noisy old rig into something up to date before something fails...and get rid of that horrible hum/noise when the rig is at idle.
