Post subject: Maple neck getting...Slower?

When I first tried my strat at music stop, the neck was really fast and smooth. Now it feels slower and stickier even though i wash it. i olny use water and had it for 2 months.

Try cleaning it with Fender Mist wipe or Dunlop Formula # 65 Polish & Cleaner, oil and water don't mix... probably not getting all the oils from your skin off the neck.

dont use water. use dunlop formula #65

water is not going to clean the oils from your fingers off of the wood which will slow you down. There are a lot of good cleaning products like the ones aforementioned. Find one you like that is safe for the fretboard

If it's a nitro finished neck you'll need to keep it clean. Nitro takes a bit to fully cure and can get sticky with sweat and dirt fairly quickly. This does go away over time. The nice thing about the nitro is the neck will age much faster then a poly coated neck.
