Does this look like a valid guitar?
Said it's a 2011 bought from a studio player as a deluxe but possibly a standard with some deluxe features.
Here's the guys ad?
Thanks.

I'll pay for your gas to come look at it if you don't think this looks like it is right off the showroom floor.

This is a Fender American Ash Strat - Aged Cherry Burst. As you know the American strats hold their value better than "made in Mexico" versions. This guitar sells for over $1300 and I don't think that includes an SKB hard shell case designed for the instrument.

Comes With:
Custom original case and all original pieces to the purchase package (i.e. Strap, Tools, Manual, ect.)

Condition:
Near Mint. Hardly Played. Used to track a few studio tracks. Never Gigged.

Modifications:
None. Bridge and neck had pro setup recently.

Manufacture Specs (Pulled from Web):

Ash Body Gives This Strat More Spank!

It's the Strat that countless players have come to know and love -- with a feature set that's been put on steroids. Check out the new compound-radius fretboard, aimed to make string bending anywhere along the neck totally effortless and expressive. Other welcome features include locking tuners for tuning stability, and strap locks for keeping your American Ash Strat right where you want it.

That looks like an American Standard to me in Sienna Sunburst.

Bridge looks like a standard (vintage saddles vs block)
No contoured neck heel
No S1 Switch
Also, the logo looks like the standard logo rather than the one on the deluxe, however it's not a great picture.

The photos are no good, but it seems very legit American Standard Ash strat in sienna sunburst. The body texture is definitely ash.
It seems to be identical to the one on this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPQN5hY9taM

Nevertheless, the specs given in the listing are clearly wrong and taken from the American Deluxe Ash strat. These pickups are definitely not N3s, and there is no S-1 switch clearly.

Yes - per the product dating page here: http://www2.fender.com/fr-FR/support/ar ... ct-dating/

About 3/4 of the way down the page they get to the serial number formats used since 2010.

Bottom-line: Since about March 2010 Fender has used the prefix "US" followed by 2 digits to represent the year, followed by 6 digits that are the actual serial number.

So "US11181662" translates to "US11" being the prefix and "181662" is the individual serial number. "US11" means the guitar was built between March 2011 and February/March 2012. It most likely means this predates the March 2012 update to CS Fat 50s pickups.
