If you do big multiple string bends, the trem will always give in, it's the nature of the beast. Strings pull to one direction, trem springs balance this, your bending changes the "seesaw" balance.
You can improve the situation (as already mentioned above) by tightening the trem springs, adding more springs, switching to heavier duty springs, (even more if you deck the trem to the body with sufficient string tension) - and paying attention to your bending technique.
The quest for a proper balance sometimes takes a little experimenting, be patient.

From your original post ("The bridge on my MIM Strat won't sit flat. To make matters worse whenever I do string bends it rises more and my notes go flat.") I understood the notes stay flat after you release the bend - that could also hint to nut slot problems. Anyway, a little contact point (string to anything) lubing never hurts.

And here's a little light evening reading: Strat Setup Guide

Mine did exactly the same, a lot. And I have a two post bridge on a MiM (was why I bought the one I did).

My understanding is the trem plate should be parallel to the body but high enough to allow a (I think) full tone dip on the middle strings, so about 1mm clearance below.

I have seen various set ups including packing the underside of the back plate until flush and tightening the springs to hold it down on the packing. Tune the guitar, remove the packing and slacken the springs until the guitar is in tune again.

I can see the theory, but geometry and leverage must come in to play to establish the ideal position, so having the posts higher and the saddles lower may be better, or may be worse.

I swapped mine for an American 2 post bridge, shoved on five springs and never use the trem arm - problem solved.

I was surprised that it was an issue initially though as I use .008's. It was pretty bad though. I was also surprised as, otherwise the guitar had been set up really nicely.
