Does anyone know if the CLASSIC PLAYER '50S STRATOCASTER® is a MIM or made inthe US? It's a $800 guitar and I live about 285 mi. from the nearest GC. Would be nice to know before I buy :)

It is probably the highest quality MIM that Fender makes, on par with a US made instrument. My CP 50s was very close to the same quality, fit and finish as my Am Std Strat.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

I thought similarly about the 60s CP Strat - it's an extremely well made piece of kit, right up there and just about rubbing shoulders with the MiA stuff.
The CP (Baja) Telecasters are excellent too, in both flavours.

I am looking at one of those. I have an American Standard and an AVRI 59 Thin skin. Was wondering about quality. I am guessing the pickups are ceramic and the wiring is not cloth. Would probably change out pickups and put an AVRI tremblock to bring it up to standards.

The bridge is a 2 point, and the pickups are alnico.

Actually the pickups in the 50s model are 57/62s with Black fiber bobbins and cloth wiring. the 60s model has Custom 69s which are MIM versions of CS69s. Grey Fiber bobbins and cloths leads. In fact most MIMs come with Alnico pickups, the MIM standards and I believe the Buddy guy are the only MIMs with Ceramic pickups
