I am purchasing a MIM Deluxe Lonestar Strat next month. I am thinking of changing out the Fender Twin Head humbucking bridge pickup for a Seymore Duncan Invader pickup. I really like the feature of being able to turn off one of the coils on the humbucker so it sounds like a single coil. What I am wondering is if i change out the pickup, will this be an option because it can be wired that way or would I lose this feature?

I am not looking for opinions on the pickup I am looking at, just whether or not this is something that can be done. Thanks Fender Forum!!!

The Invader has a 4-conductor cable so yes; you can retain the coil-split feature.

Is there a distinct sound difference between these two pickups? Unfortunately I do not have the time to go and test each one of these pickups.

Hmm....well the question is; why do you want to change the Twin Head humbucker? What are you looking for soundwise?
