OK, thought I'd repost this in the strat forum, original post in the lobby section under that product thread.
I know they are a mix of strats, teles & a mustang.
What are your thoughts about these?
The only info released so far is on the 70's hardtail and this u-tube clip from NAMM.
Seems like they would draw more interest than I've found.
Anyway here is the clip,

They all look great. I like the double cut Tele the best.

The American Vintage 70's hardtail Strat was a really good idea, but they ruined it for me. There's no bullet truss rod adjustment, it has a "modern C" shaped neck with a 9 1/2" radius fretboard, the crappy new standard tuners, and 22 jumbo frets. All of this stuff equates to just about every Strat they make now. Same $@!&. I know they're trying to please everybody, but when you try to please everybody... you wind up pleasing nobody. I had my money ready to buy one, but without the vintage specs, it's just like anything else. I'll take my business elsewhere.

There is already a "Classic Series 70s" with the vintage specs, this one is different, and one of a very few models, maybe only a couple , with a hard tail.

I don't have anything against the model; I would like to try one out some time since I'm not much of a trem user when I have a Strat.

However, this is really a hard tail American Special with the 70s pickups instead of the usual Texas Specials and it should be identified clearly as an American Special. The current name leads one to think it's a reissue when it clearly is not.
