Hi everyone, I'm going to be buying my first strat soon, and I've decided to go with a HSS strat. I´ve been looking two guitars, the American Standard Stratocaster HSS and the American Standard Stratocaster HSS Shawbucker. I want to ask, which of those guitars are the better option and why?

The HSS Shawbuckers are just starting to hit stores; you'll have to wait a while to see what people think. There are really only two differences - the bridge pickup itself, and the Shawbucker version has that new double pot that shows 500k to the humbucker and 250k to the single coils.

I suspect that the Shawbucker version is replacing the prior HSS model, but Fender will keep the prior model on the website until all of the ones in their warehouse are sold out.

The Shawbucker Deluxe doesn't have that double concentric pot but there are some sites claiming this feature availability for both. Have you any idea about this claim?

Chromeface - that is what the Fender website says: the dual pot is on the American Standard, while the American Deluxe has the normal S-1 switch pot. I suspect that Fender just hasn't figured out yet how to combine the S-1and the dual pot for the American Deluxes. I haven't seen one in person yet.
