That color body rack pic is driving me insane. I have to say the solo orange body in the pic has caused a little drool......

So here's my one and lonely:

One is all you need when it's that cool :)

I have a Special too its actually a Highway 1 here it is fitted with my standard body. The body that belongs to it is getting refinished.

That is nice...looks like a Hwy one? Yes I also have been digging on that orange one in the rack. I have an older Strat Ultra body that has been hanging around for a while. I was going to paint it sage green to be different but now am thinking of going bright orange. I also like that bronze looking deluxe body in the middle on top.

But I am thinking bright orange, white pickguard and chrome humbuckers. I also have a 70s rosewood FB neck for it. Should look killer. I know some are all anal about HB's in a Strat but I already have the pups and the ultra bodies are all swimming pool routes so might as well. Might even go HHH...only did that once before and I really dug it.

Mine is the 2012 FSR version of the nitro satin finish American Special(I think I paid $649-new). It has standard pups instead of Tx. Specials. They changed the specs sometime that year, I haven't noticed the difference having never played the Tx. specials. I changed the tuners this year to Schaller locking and will never wind another string on it. It plays as good as I can play it, still working on that part, lol...
If I ever get another Strat it will be Tangerine Orange w/ a mint guard and fat 50's or an HSS of some sort.

Mine is a Highway 1 yes but thats one of my Standard bodies in a recent picture. It's body is getting a fresh coat of Gloss Black Nitro and it has a Super Vee Blade Runner tremolo. I will show you in a couple weeks when paint is done. That is it's pickguard. It is apart right now because the new neck on my American Standard arrived.

Cool. I got a 2002 AM STD with Vintage noiseless golds in the process of a gloss black nitro job. I also stripped the neck and redid that in nitro. The thing is I did not give a thick enough coat and after 2000 grit today realized I could see the primer coat in some spots....and I missed a few imperfections. That was after the 3 weeks waiting time. So now I need to fix a few small spots and give a few more coats....then wait 3 weeks again...and possibly another 3 if it ends up needing clear.

I also like your Les Paul. I have a soft spot for Gibsons as well. Here is my 69 SG which as you can tell has a long way to go in its restoration but I do have just about all the original parts including the case.....

To the left of it is an 80's 62 reissue. It looks sonic blue in the pic but it is actually surf green. That one is pretty close to completion. Don't have the original pups for it but do have a set of CS Tex specials doing nothing so might as well give those a run. I do also have a set of these really old metal plate bottom single coils and might give those a shot instead...decisions, decisions.

Classy looker. How do you like those rail pups? I never tried a set.

Thanks!

I've had some I didn't like but these I do.

My daughter wanted a Daisy Rock to replace her cheap Strat clone(a Squier would have been an upgrade!) and I found one at the pawn shop with rails. Had a tag that read "$25 Doesn't work". Was missing the nut holding the jack in. Worked fine after that and really sounds good too. Saw an ad in Guitar World for a hybrid pickup. Has poles for the plain strings and rails for the wound. Maybe just a marketing thing though.
