Has anyone ordered a guitar through Sweetwater before? How was the experience? What's covered under the 2 year warranty?

I ordered my Gretsch 5622 from them, great service Mostly the two year warranty covers items with less than a 2 year warranty. If what you buy has a longer warranty then that is in effect. They are a authorized repair shop for most brands they sell. If the repair is something the factory wants to do instead they handle that for you.

I ordered my Peavey Delta Blues 115 through them, so no setup or anything was required.

They were very helpful and price matched the best deal I could find and incl. shipping.

They're not a Big Box store, so their on-hand inventory is smaller and can sometimes lead to delays with the item being drop-shipped from their distributor/manufacturer.

Will buy from them again and would recommend.

cheers!

Thanks for everyone's input. It's pretty helpful.

Lightnin MN,

I used to own a Delta Blues and loved it.

I ordered a 60th Ann Commemorative Strat, it arrived quickly, double boxed, was flawless and had a perfect setup. They even took quality pictures and emailed them to me before the guitar shipped.

I also ordered a Blackstar HT-5RH mini-stack, and it too arrived quickly and was flawless. Their QC is top notch, and since I haven't had any issues, I haven't needed the extra warranty support.

I have also ordered a few smaller items, amp cover, tuners, etc, and have received the same attention and care as with larger purchases.

I spoke with a customer rep, Spencer, and he has answered any and all questions, and occasionally calls just to see how things are going. We have spoken on a few occasions, at length about all things music related. The employees at Sweetwater have backgrounds as musicians, or in music related businesses, and are very knowledgeable about gear.

I am waiting for them to get an Am Std HH Strat in Olympic White in stock, and will order that and probably a DR head at the same time.

Nothing but great things to say about Sweetwater. 8)

just another thumbs up for sweetwater... Like dealing with them over anyone else, including Musicians Friend, who does a HORRENDOUS job packing purchases for shipping.

I've also had very good experience with SweetWater... they ship fast and pack things well. You can tell they care about their customers.

ZZounds is also good... but they don't do the set-up thing like SweetWater will do before shipping out a guitar... but... very good service, fast shipping and good packing job with them as well.

no need to hesitate. I`ve ordered lots of stuff including an EC strat. If there`s a problem they fix the problem or make it good! The prices are always negotiable depending on the salesman and current promotions.

Yes they do negotiate, but sometimes they take a odd road to get there. I called them up to buy my Gretsch and told them I found a seller on ebay that had the same guitar at the same price but were including a free case. They check it out and said We can't give you a free case but we can lower the price of the guitar a 100 bucks and sell you the case for a 100 bucks. Bottom line was the same so I said Ok.
