kenney, although my 2007 is a year older and is a MIM standard strat (S-S-S), my neck and scale info, as given to me by a Fender rep, is:

Neck: Maple, Modern “C” Shape,
(Satin Polyurethane Finish)

Fingerboard: Maple, 9.5” Radius (241mm)

No. of Frets: 21 Medium Jumbo

Scale Length: 25.5” (648 mm)

Width @ Nut: 1.650” (42 mm)

Hope this helps. You can also email the company through this website (www.fender.com) and give them your serial number and they'll give you the exact specs of your guitar

I think the MIMs are very good quality and a good buy but I didn't like the neck area near the nut. Seems extra thick. American Standard necks are similar but are not thick around the nut.

I've been reading through quite a few threads on this forum regarding the MIM pickups, and the verdict seems rather polarised - people either seem to think they're great or desperately lacking!

I still haven't even got my guitar yet but when I get it would like to try putting in different pickups just to play around and see what I like. Being utterly new to an electric I think the best way to learn what I like is simply to experiment, and of course changing pickups is much easier than having a few different axes around to try out different sounds! Plus I want to build a Tele one day and will need to learn this stuff.

So I'm going to get some Texas Specials and (once I've learnt how!) drop those in to have a play around. I'm not real familiar with different models and brands of pickups yet, but given that these are on the MK artist Strat and I love the sound of his playing it's modelled on they seem as good a place as any to start! Plenty of good reviews doesn't hurt, either.

Fender's generic neck is now the modern C. It's on everything but the kitchen sink unless specified otherwise.

Doc :(

You might want to try the stock ones first ,for me personly,i keep them stock ,and try to coax better tone from my amp,but before long i decided to change.I went With Lace Hot Gold,Lace sliver, and Seymour Duncan Trem.at bridge. This combo gives me a nice blues tone, and a prettey good rock sound.I guess it,s what your looking for.Good Luck Kenney :D :)
