Hi! There are rumors circulating on the net about the pickups in the Classic Player 60's strat are not Custom shop 69's anymore. and that they do not sound just as good as the ones you can buy separately. can anyone please either confirm or debunk this? I am currently shopping for a Classic player 60 Stratocaster and I would not buy it if the pickups are something else. Cheers!

If you notice the specs don't say Custom Shop 69s but rather say "Custom '69 Single-Coil Strat" . The general consensus is that they are the same pickups just wound in Mexico to the same specs. I don't think it make a lick of difference where they are made TBH if the specs are the same. I've had both the Custom Shop 69s and Custom 69s and they look and sound identical to me.

yes thats what it say in the specs, Thanks, I don't know if it would make a difference, I guess it depends on the material used?
