I'd go for that Standard - nice specs from a good year.

Unless I felt I needed a humbucker at the bridge. Then I'd have to go for the Deluxe.

Do you prefer apples or oranges?

If you know what styles of music you want to play check them out both if possible for you. If you want to play classic rock, hardrock the Deluxe will be better, also depents on the amp you play (gain).

Cheers :D

cluster_one, please know that the first strat that you said is a 50th anniversary is not a true 50th. The true 50th is only available in sunburst. What you have is an '04 strat with a 50th button on the neck, which is what Fender put on all '04s.

I know this because I went through this early this year. I am not trying to take anything away from this, but just wanted you to be aware.

OH thank you, i was sure about this, i did some research on the web and could not find an olympic white for the 50th. Anyway i think its a really good guitar. the neck has been reworked and the mechanism ajusted by a professionnal. i will try the guitar tonight and will be able to see by myself. Thanks again for this information

You're welcome, and I hope that you find the guitar is as good as you hope.
