I have taken your picture and zoomed in to see the pups better. You can plainly see there's no embossment and there's no bevel.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

It's clear they are not the noiseless pickups, so they have been replaced in the way, together with the S1 switch...impossible to judge what they are without taking off the pickguard....go back to the shop if you want more info...
Surely they are not Fat 50 pickups since those are staggered but beveled. Those are the ones loaded in my Am Std.

The American Deluxe are really nice guitars.

My '13 American Deluxe Ash in aged cherry burst is just great !

Mine differs from this '05 in that it has the center-depress S1 switch and the N3 Noiseless pickups.

It is very different than the vintage or traditional Stratocaster with it's compound radius neck, 2-point tremolo, locking tuners and contoured heel at the neck.

Fender did an excellent job updating the traditional Stratocaster, not necessarily better, but certainly just as good in a different way. It plays and feels very different from my very traditional FSR Ltd. Ed. '57 American Vintage, but to me they are the best of both worlds.

Congrats ! I'm sure you're gonna grow to love it (if you don't already)... I certainly do.

cheers!

Thanks everyone. I went to the shop again, and they told me that everything is supposed to be original, but they asked me to come back tomorrow and check it with the Luthier. Luckily, the guitar includes a three year warranty, so they told me there should be no problem.

I have also written to Fender Customer service and see if they can shed some light about my guitar.

Other than that, I really love my Strat! I just want to know for sure what it is!
