hey all, i am new here

i am going to buy my first electric guitar. i only own an acoustic one now..

ok, for my budget i was checking out Deluxe Fat Strat® and Highway One™ Stratocaster® HSS (Upgrade)

i would be playing rock, hard rock, metal, that kind of music

any suggestions? what s the difference between those two? which guitar do you think i should get ?? other model? other brand?
(and im planning to buy marshall avt50xt to it)

i really dont know much about el. guitars so i would be happy if you would help me out in any way.
thanks to all

If you feel you need a humbucker at the bridge then either of those will be absolutely fine. There is a long list of small but significant differences in their specs that would make you choose between them - but you can't decide on that till you try them in a store.

But why do you think you need a humbucker? You say you don't know much about electric guitars... Sounds to me like you should be buying a Mexican or American Standard Strat, or a regular Highway One, and spend a year or two playing it, before you start thinking about refinements.

You start worrying about exactly which type of tyres to put on a car... after you learned to drive.

By the way, a Marshall AVT is fine as a first amp, but seriously think about a smaller one than 50 watts, if it is for home use. Amps really do their thing best when they are cranked up high. So for domestic use get one that ain't going to infuriate the neighbours when it's running near full. The AVT20 has gain, volume, three-band EQ, reverb and an OD switch as a bonus. Truly, that is all you need till you're playing arenas. Don't get mesmerised by long lists of "features"...

Welcome to the forum, and good luck!

The Strats you prefere with HB you can use for Classic Rock - Hardrock,
if you have good amp with much high gain it goes to Heay Metal old style.

For modern Metal styles with down tunings ect. is a ESP Ltd or Ibanez a better way.

check it out :D

Versatility is in the eye of the beholder to some extent... You can do an amazing number of things on a good old basic strat with 3 single coils.

My PRS with a 5-way rotary switch and humbuckers doesn't sound just like a strat, nor does a strat with a humbucker sound just like a les paul, yet all 3 are fine instruments worthy of ownership and much playing time
