I recently played a 2013 Roadhouse Strat and was quite impressed with the various tonal possibilities. I know there are active electronics which can be bypassed with the S1 Switch, but I'm not sure how the different tones are produced. Is it the way the pickups are wired. I was told there is a "preamp" aboard.

Would love to hear from all you proud Roadhouse owners

Thanks & Cheers!
BM

I have one of the Deluxe Roadhouse Strats, and I agree, you can get some nice sounds from it. From what I have read about the pre-amp and rotary switch is that it is like a modified mid boost that acts like a "fat" switch with 6 positions that works with any of the pickup combinations. The pickups are wired normally, and you can swap out the pickups and still use the S1 and rotary switches.

Well everytime I hear everything else about the V6 system the two guitar legends and their beloved axes always came in my mind.... :| It seems the folks at the R&D who designed the V6 cooked up a totally new concept borrowing from Gibson's Varitone pickup system then packed it into a modified version of their popular "Elite" preamp.

The result is a nice mixture from two different circuits.

BTW: You only get that on the Roadhouse... the companion Lonestar Strat (HSS) does not have that feature. Nor does the Lonestar have the SD Pearly Gates Plus bucker like the original US version and former MIM version.
