Hello all. Iv spent about 3 hours on the internet trying to educate myself (new to strat world) but still cant determine if this 2006 strat is a american std, or hwy 1.
I have pics and will figure out how to upload them but here is what iv got....

1-much shiner than my mim tele sunburst making me think maybe its a std
2-It is contoured, not sure if this helps
3-reads contoured on headstock, which is normal size, not vintage large
4-blank neck plate no F or Fender stamp
5-upgraded large mass block. According to the catalog the std was upgraded to this in 2006, but made no mention if hwy 1 was also
6-It does have the 6 screw pivot bridge, but so does both std and hwy 1 according to pics in 2006 fender product catalog.
7-It is very glossy and smooth feeling. Also lighter in comparison to a mim strat.

I appreciate your time all. I will get the pics uploaded shortly.

Has a Vintage Style trem... where's the truss adjust located... at the headstock... or at the bottom of the neck?

Pics posting instructions: Nutter's Quick Start Guide

Was there an "American Standard" at all in 2006, IIRC it was called the "American Series"...
But: both AmSeries and Highway1 had the truss rod adjustment at the headstock.
Maybe it's "Classic Series", but let's wait for the pics.

Without pictures, this thread is worthless. :(

Correcting myself; it's not a Classic Series - somehow I read the trussrod in the OP's guitar was heel adjusted...
So guessing AmSeries until the pics arrive...

Not quite true - SSS Highway 1's had the small headstock/vintage-style decal from the time they were introduced (late 2002/early 2003) until about the middle of 2006 when the model was updated and changed to the large headstock/70s-style decal. Now the HSS model always had the large headstock/70s-style decal from the time they came out in 2003 (and all the other features were updated in mid-2006).

There are 2006 (Z6xxxxxx serial number) SSS Highway 1 Strats with the small headstock. However, that doesn't match up with it having a glossy finish on the body. The Highway 1 bodies can be polished up to be more glossy.

We do need photos to figure out what this one is - it could be a parts guitar or a replacement body if it's not a polished-up Highway 1.

Yes, the 2006 SSS Hwy One's had the small headstock, but they had a matte finish. If yours has the shiny gloss finish, it's a Standard.

2 string trees, blank neck plate, it's definitely a Hwy One. I had one just like it. One of the best strats I've ever had (and I've had some really nice ones)

Agree with HP above.
(This time for me: two times off, hope the third guess holds... )

The wiring test: Highway1 has the Greasebucket wiring.

BTW, the Frontline 2006 shows vintage headstock HWY1's.

On Frontline 2006 , H1 are show at pages 66 and 67, I see small headstock only .
