Hey Brad!
How about a section where we the forum users can post ideas about mods and such? Maybe we could post sound bites of what Fender guitars sound like with alternative pickups installed; I'm sure the members would be happy to provides thses...then folks could use that as a resource when considering what Fender guitar or pickups to purchase.

I don't know how cost effective it would be but that's a great idea

Well new memebers (Bless thier hearts!) keep asking the same questions every week; we spend a lot of time re-iterating the same info.
I don't mind mentoring or helping but it can get frustrationg.
IMHO There are lots of ways to hear guitars with different pickups on the net and I think that's where the research sould begin.

I agree 100% and I would much rather have the new members have a place to hear a large # of different types of pickups played through different amps. I feel sure that we as a forum would have access to a much greater varity than just one site trying to put it all together them self

We do have a Fender Pickups and Accessories forum for pickups and mods.
As far as the ability to attach files, that would be nice but I'm sure it would certainly add a lot more overhead to the site. Really there's nothing stopping people from hosting sound files somewhere on their own and just providing links.
One thing I'd like to see done here which isn't always done on other sites that host sound clips is listing in detail what equipment is being used. Since a guitars tone is determined by more than just pickups full details with the sounds clips is really essential.

I think it's a neat idea, and I'll certainly contribute if it gets going. Good on yer, DNA!
