Unique tone, good build (well, unless I buy it. My old MIJ Strat was the workhorse of workhorses, though).

A Strat has a certain sound no other guitar has. You could say the same for certain Gibson models and quality Jacksons, of course. (IMHO, you couldn't say the same for Ibanez guitars. Just had to throw that in there :) ) But one thing I - and Yngwie - find is that no other guitar has the kind of separation of notes you find in a Strat. No matter how many notes per second. Single coils help, but it's by no means all pups (listen to Dave Murray's HSS leads, for instance).

Plus: Hendrix and Gilmour.
