Sweet, I've played a couple of them when our GC had them, wish I'd picked one up.

The Forum member who first claimed that honor, about 7 years ago, was 'Airbornestrat' whom we don't see posting here much nowadays. He's on Facebook under his given name. I trust your cudos are well earned. I've been there myself, about 13 years ago, with a competitors product which arrived unexpectedly. I think its fair to say, that if one goes out and drops big numbers on a Custom Shop model, which I've done several times, and there's no backdraft about it, the song remains the same.

I like the nod to Gilmour's guitar.

Arrived on time, bang on the earliest time quoted by DPD at half 10 :)

One Fender Stratocaster 60th Anniversary 50's Stratocaster in Desert Sand:

I opened the case to inspect, and now she's shut away until properly acclimatised to room temperature. I'll be getting some more photos once that happens this afternoon :D

Then it will be time to plug it in and wail away!

Ah ha - nice to see again! I saw it on Fender Fanatics FB page yesterday too. 8)

Thanks again guys :D

Finally plugged her in tonight, and she literally sings. From crystal clean to lively over driven tones, she's a very versatile guitar.

With the right EQ, you can get thick searing lead if you want from the bridge, that is so silky smooth.

One very happy chap right now :)

Oh I have been :) She's been with me for almost a week so I am confident she's settled in at home, so it's now time for a setup this weekend. Tweak of the truss rod to add a tiny bit of relief and a new set of strings and she'll be bang on.

She's got some beautiful tones, especially in 2 and 4 (4 being neck and bridge together), and she seems more responsive to volume knob use than any other of my Strats have been.
