My new toy (courtesy of the greatest wife a man could ever have) arrived this morning :D

Arrived on time, bang on the earliest time quoted by DPD at half 10 :)

I spy tweed!

One Fender Stratocaster 60th Anniversary 50's Stratocaster in Desert Sand:

I opened the case to inspect, and now she's shut away until properly acclimatised to room temperature. I'll be getting some more photos once that happens this afternoon :D

Then it will be time to plug it in and wail away!

A lovely touch, a little embedded medallion to commemorate the Anniversary:

And last but not least (for now) a long shot:

She is acoustically resonant beyond belief, I've never had a Strat so responsive in that sense. The soft V neck is a pleasure to hold, so so comfortable, and the glassy board is a delight to play.

My only criticism is there is no instruction as to how to operate the locking mechanism on the tuners, but a quick search online shows the slot on the top is the 'screw top'.

Impressed? You bet your 1950's $@! I am!

Thanks chaps :)

I've spent the last 2 hours playing it whilst teaching my step daughter some guitar. She's just starting out (she got a Strat clone for her first guitar at Christmas), and is showing some promise :)

The Anni plays like butter, such a sweet player, that resonates acoustically for ever! A little tweak to the low E should see her perfect (little bit more buzz than I like, but nothing a tiny raise won't cure).

Check neck curve , truss rod , not same weather at your home with Fender Factory , neck may move . Not saddle height .

A light tune up ........

Neck curve is pretty spot on to be honest, it definitely seems like the low E was set a little low from the factory, but only a tiny bit (and I am being very picky).

Congrats on that righteous score...and not a bad looking guitar either! You are a lucky man!

It's a matter of taste and how hard you pluck. Easy to adjust this saddle
