I just acquired a '93 MIM Strat and would like to replace the tremolo as I understand they are one of the cons in the MIM strats. After looking, I see that there is one for a 2 1/16 mounting and one for a 2 7/32. I'm away from my guitar and unable to measure it. Does anyone know the correct fit for the '93 MIM?

Thank you.

I'm just going off of the information provided on this page. I'm ordering a loaded pick guard to instal and figured if I have it apart, I might as well make any improvements that I can. I'm good with saving the money though if you've heard otherwise. My other Strat is MIA and this is my first experience with a MIM one.

Please let me know if you have something to add. I'm trying to educate myself on this.

Thank you.

This is only one opinion . I did not read all . MIM guitars are built better over the years. How is yours ? You may test the bridge by yourself before.

Could we say if the guitar is not a top of the line there is always many cons ?

Why upgrading a MIM to a American Standard quality or other ? Better to buy an Am Standard but you have one .

MIM are very good guitar for the price . If you like spend money as a hobby upgrading guitar, why not .

Mexican Standard Stratocasters usually are 2 1/16" Screw Spacing and 2 1/16" String Spacing.

A great bridge for these with no modification is the Super-Vee Blade Runner. http://www.super-vee.com
